The Citizens' Bank of Louisiana was chartered in 1833 in New Orleans, La., as a property bank that financed extensive deals in land and slaves. The bank's charter was renewed as a commercial bank in 1853. The Citizens' Bank was merged into the Canal-Commercial Trust and Savings Bank in 1924.
